Changes to KARE Soap

Why the New Website?

1. More simplified ordering ~
  • Three different monthly shipment options at only $3.40 per bar
  • Your soap conveniently shipped right to your door every month!
  • If you don't like the fragrance choices, just tell us which ones you want in the shopping cart comment section
  • You can even change the fragrances every month. Just email us a week before your order ships.
2. Of course if you only want to order once in a while and not have a monthly shipment, you can do that too. Our new non-subscription price per bar is $5.50 and the shea butter is now $15 per jar. Yes, after nearly 6 years, we are finally raising our prices.

4. Wholesale customers, you can order easily too. The minimum wholesale soap order is for 18 bars at only $2.75 per bar (any variety) and the minimum wholesale Shea Butter order is for 6 at $7.50 each.

5. Our Soy Candle Store also has a link at the bottom of the page, and it uses the same shopping cart so you can save on shipping.

We urge you to ask questions and share your concerns through email, phone or right at the new website. Share a product testimony by calling the number at the top of the page.

This is a big change, so your suggestions are welcome. If things are hard to find, we want to know. If you would like to see something that we don't have listed, tell us about it! Your feedback will help us serve you better.

A dreamy mouthwatering fragrance together with an oatmeal bar is a combination that will make your skin dance for joy! This is our best seller! Madder Root powder colorant.

Oats 'n Musk™...exfoliating soap...

A men's oat bar filled with a deep musky aroma. Specially requested by a man and a very gnarly looking bar.

Granola Bar™ Soap...exfoliating

One of the first soaps we offered in 2002! For the "granola" in you! Enriched with oatmeal, and goats milk. Unscented.

Elizabeth Rose™ Soap

We captured the pure, sweet smell of rose with just a hint of vanilla. Rose petals are added to this soap to complete the picture. Named for our oldest daughter.

Ebony & Lavender™ Soap... calming...

Pure essential oil of lavandin forms this well-loved traditional fragrance. We added rattanjot for color.

Grandfather's Pocket™ Soap...

The unmistakable rich aroma of sweet tobacco made from pipe tobacco fragrance oil is a favorite among many of our customers. Cocoa powder gives the dark color.

Zach Attack™...soap for oily skin

A nice, refreshing scent that will make you feel alive in the morning! This one is made with a peppermint blend of only essential oils. Named for our oldest son. Blue ultramarine colorant with peppermint leaves and white chunks of soap.

CrAzY SoAp...

The clean smell of sage and the fruity smell of blackberries...unforgettable, simple and very desirable. Colored pieces of other soaps give the jewel tones.

Sawyer's Forest™... Soap for oily skin...

Like taking a walk in the woods! A forest fragrance oil with rosemary leaves (slightly astringent) and comfrey root to enhance. Named for our second son.

Citrus Grove Soap...

Ahh, the refreshing fragrance of citrus and flowers! This tantalizing fruity and floral delight will take you on a journey through trees laden with fruit on a warm, sunny day. Turmeric gives a nice warm color.

Victoria Jewel™... skin softening Soap

A jewel of a fragrance, named for our youngest daughter. This honeysuckle blend spiced up with a little color from calendula (skin softening) and ginger (warms your skin) will give your senses a whirl.

Tropical Haven™ Soap... exfoliating

Close your eyes and float to an island far from civilization as the comforting smell of the peaceful tropics envelops you. This is not a fruity fragrance, but a warm vanilla blend. Coconut pieces added as exfoliant.

Sweetgrass Breeze™... Soap for oily skin

This one is cool, clean and refreshing. A marvelous fragrance that will soothe you like a gentle breeze. Colored with hyssop powder and green clay which deeply cleanses pores.

River Rain™ Soap

A stimulating fragrance that may remind you of a gentle refreshing rain as you're floating one of our beautiful rivers... better yet, floating and fly-fishing! This will fill up your senses, clear your head, and make you feel squeaky clean. We used dill for a colorful addition to this soap.

Huckleberry Myles™ Soap

Montana is famous for its huckleberries. Now you can have the fragrance in your soap! Use this popular fragrance when you bathe to remind you of relaxing summer vacations in the Big Sky Country! Soap berries colored with alkanet root powder. Named for our third son.

Cedar Spice Soap

A homey, woody fragrance consisting of cedarwood essential oil and a smidgen of fragrance oil. A strong cedar smell, with just an idea of mens cologne. Paprika used as colorant.

Joe Soap™...ultra exfoliating

Brewed coffee and coffee grains. Coffee soap makes a great kitchen soap! Use it to remove unwanted odors from your hands, such as garlic or onion. For all of you gardeners and mechanics, we add a special clay for removing grime as well. Our customers are already telling us it's great for this...better than lava soap! Time will tell what other wonderful benefits await us with daily use of coffee soap! Those who know soap with Joe.

Sweet Innocence™

Soap, pure and simple. Nothing added...no fragrance, no color and no botanicals. All of our soaps are mild, but this one is extra mild for your baby or to baby your skin!

Lilac Lullaby™ Soap

So sweet,gentle and pure it will rock you to sleep. Forget all the lilac fragrances that smell like air freshener, this one smells just like you stepped outside in the spring when the lilacs are in full bloom! Lilac fragrance oil.

Pear Soap

A beautiful gentle scent, full of sweetness, yet slightly refreshing. Nice smooth bar with no exfoliants. Perfect for a relaxing bath. Green oxide colorant

About Us

I began my adventure with soap at the end of the 1990s, when a friend taught me how to make it.
Originally it was more of a novelty, learning how to do something that was necessary for our ancestors. I mostly used the soap in my own family and for a few gifts here and there. However, over these years since I began to learn soapmaking, I have become thoroughly convinced of the wonderful benefits offered by homemade soap. As a result, I created a special recipe, discovered a wonderful method and it became so exciting, I wanted to make more soap than our family could use!
In the spring of 2002, my husband and I decided to begin selling the soap in order to supplement the family income, share some of the proceeds with those in need and to train our home-schooled children in the various skills necessary in order to successfully manage a business. I have since done extensive research on the successful methods of soapmaking, the secrets of good marketing and the qualities of good business ownership. On June 1st, 2002 we opened the doors of KARE Handcrafted Soaps™ to the public and our business was born!

KARE Handcrafted Soaps™ is a home operated business. Our homemade soap is blended from scratch in large pots, then poured in special molds, snuggled under warm coverings, and cured for three weeks. Each bar is cut by hand. We use natural base oils, pure essential oils, spices and powders and quality fragrance oils. Our goat milk is produced right here on our farm and our special moisturizing ingredient, shea butter, comes from West Africa. Everything we offer comes with our personal satisfaction guarantee.

Our Name

The name KARE™ came from an affectionate nickname given to Karilee in college. It has been with her ever since. Because the soap is naturally good for your skin care, it seemed an appropriate name for the soap as well.

Our Goals

The number one goal we have as a business is to provide our customers with a high quality product and personal excellence in service. We are willing to work hard to provide the best soap we possibly can and to treat each of our customers like they are the most important.

    Our Cause

    Helping those in need, whether they are neighbors or those in the uttermost parts, in ways that will benefit them the most!
    KARE Handcrafted Soaps™ profits will be shared to help meet the needs of neighbors who come across the path of daily life as well as yet unmet friends in other countries, such as Romania, Ghana, West Africa or India. This money will help provide food, clothing and other necessities that are made known for orphans, widows and anyone else who can be helped. In this way we honor and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
